Chapter 62 - neo-informatology
mickmick, 00:05h
interesting conversation i had today. physician - engineer. insider - outsider. professional - layman. healer - father. only academics we are both... and men, of course! :)
and i learned a completely new aspect of the whole blog thing... which is: doctors can read important information from written personal thoughts of parents, and thus further and better learn how to deal with edgy situations like premature birth.
i never thought of it THIS way. but FINALLY there is something more for us to give back than just saying "thank you" - even if it is just something small...
in this spirit: a cordial welcome to physicians of all fields, especially neonatologists. and if anything should ever need discussing, i am always just one click away...

Dear Mick, I know it is not the same thing but as a vet I keep repeating my clients that if I can do my job at best is because they trust me and support me and they are open with me, and I learn every they from them, they teach me as well on what is the best way to help heir pet and them. and I think there is definetly an analogy between the pet/vet/owner team work and baby/doctor/parents team work, because this is what it is: it is a team work!

Yes, my clients help every day to continue to learn on how to care (not only to cure) for them and my patients.
does it make sense?!

sense
it does. it makes perfect sense. we have been there with hera. and i always said, pets and kids are not far apart. why? because it only hurts when it matters. and if one cares for a pet it matters as well as if one cares for a kid. i see no difference.
and re team work: you are quite right. i just find it amazing that things so obvious need so much of a life time to occur and be understood, consequentially...
i, as a parent, just felt so helpless. now i learn that doctors need me and my opinion and judgement. ALTHOUGH it is logical, it blows me away... :)
all new stuff. i had no idea. makes me wonder: how many times in my life have i spoken to somebody about something i knew nothing about while that somebody already had the experience... and how many times i came off as a dumb a$$... :))
