Der kleine Jacky Papel liebte Paff so sehr
und ritt auf Paff vergnügt und froh oft über Land und Meer.

und alle riefen: „Paff in Sicht, wir segeln schnell nach Haus´.

Er weinte Drachentränen, traurig war sein Blick,
doch seine Tränen brachten ihm den Jacky nie zurück.
Weil er mit Klein-Jacky den besten Freund verlor,
schloss er sich in die Höhle ein und kam nie mehr hervor.

Nel 2008 voliamo negli Stati Uniti. Inizia a mancarci il nostro cane 2 minuti dopo averlo lasciato ai miei genitori.
Questo sentimento si rafforza col passare delle ore...
Dopo 4 o 5 giorni dal volo di andata, arriviamo al parco dello Yellowstone e ci accampiamo.
Una giovane coppia piazza la tenda vicino a noi, praticamente a notte inoltrata, mentre il nostro focolare é giá acceso da ore e la nostra cena giá nello stomaco. Li osserviamo con eccitazione, quando ci accorgiamo che stanno tendendo un guinzaglio scorrevole tra due alberi e ci attaccano 2 cani: un weimaraner e un pointer. Cosí ci consultiamo e decidiamo di invitarli al nostro focolare, per evitare loro di dover attizzare un focolare a quell´ora della notte per avere un pasto caldo. Unica condizione: che portino i 2 cani con loro. Detto e fatto!
Rachel é incinta e i due sono in viaggio per andare dai genitori e da lí, poco dopo, partire per la Germania! John lavorerá per una base militare.
Strano a crederci! Che coincidenza!

2008 we flew to the U.S. of A. needless to mention, we started missing our dog like 2 minutes after leaving her. this feeling strengthened by the hour. and we hit YELLOWSTONE about 4 or 5 days after leaving on the jetplane. so, when this young couple pitched their tent next to ours, practically during nightfall, while our fire was crackling and our food already eaten, we were watching them in excitement fix a long leash between two trees and tie two dogs to it: a weimaraner and a pointer. so we conferred and concluded, we would invite them over for a night by the flames (because it would be much too late to eat, if they would start a fire after setting up camp!). only condition: they would have to bring the dogs. said - done!

rachel turned out to be pregnant and they both were on their way to germany, where john was gonna be stationed.

sometime coincidences are hard to believe! :)

Wir sind 2008 nach USA in urlaub geflogen. natuerlich haben wir hera schon am dritten tag vermisst. in YELLOWSTONE auf dem campingplatz. genau in diesem moment - es war schon dunkel, unser feuer brannte und gekocht & gegessen hatten wir auch schon - baute neben uns ein paerchen sein zelt auf. das erste, was sie aufbauten, war eine lange laufleine. fuer 2 hunde. einen pointer und einen weimaraner. uns tropfte der zahn. wir haben "beraten": wenn die erst noch aufbauen, feuer machen, eh das essen warm ist, das dauert. warum bieten wir ihnen also nicht unser feuer an? bedingung: sie muessen die hunde mitbringen... gesagt, getan!

es stellte sich heraus, dass Rachel schwanger war und beide auf dem weg nach deutschland, wo John stationiert werden sollte. zufaelle sind manchmal schon nicht mehr glaubhaft... :)
